Rachel Pate lives near Fort William and is self-employed, doing contract work collecting pine cones and ringing raptors like eagles and ospreys.
After previously receiving funding to do an introduction to GIS and ATV training, she’s now about to do a refresher course in tree climbing and aerial rescue thanks to Lantra Scotland and Scottish Forestry’s Women in Forestry Fund.
She explains how useful the training and funding have been:
“The course providers for my ATV and GIS training were very good, explaining everything clearly and professionally.
Getting the tickets has made me much more efficient and given me an extra edge in finding work. It’s made a real difference to my career and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the funding.”
