The Council for Awards of Royal Agricultural Societies (CARAS)
Scottish Panel and the Royal Highland & Agricultural Society of
Scotland (RHASS) are proud to be associated with the Lantra Awards
and support young people living, learning and working in rural
Scotland.
Together, we work to ensure that this sector continues to provide exciting
careers for our next generation and thereby attracting ambitious and
enthusiastic young people.
CARAS, which was established in 1983 by the UK’s four national
agricultural societies, including RHASS, has an objective to recognise,
through an awards scheme, distinguished achievement in agriculture
and related land-based industries.
RHASS believes that supporting the Secondary School award, which
recognises schools delivering Rural Skills or supporting relevant
projects, will also help create a wider public understanding of the
management of the land and rural resources.
