After leaving school, Jonathan completed an NC, HNC and then HND in Countryside Management, gaining a variety of skills in theoretical and practical countryside techniques.

He then went on to achieve an Honours Degree in Sustainable Environmental Management at the Scottish Agricultural College.

His career began after that when he joined the River Forth Fisheries Trust as a Project Officer, co-ordinating ground control of invasive non-native species. This also allowed him to develop fisheries management skills, working closely with the Trust's biologist.

Jonathan then became a Development Officer.

“My job involves leading the development of large scale catchment improvement projects.  This allows me to continue to develop my project management and community engagement skills through hands-on experience.  I plan to continue to develop skills which will help my career to progress into a management role.”
