Lisa completed her Modern Apprenticeship SVQ Level 2 in Aquaculture at Inverness College UHI with The Scottish Salmon Company. She won the Aquaculture category at Lantra Scotland’s 2016 Learner of the Year Awards.
“I wanted to live and work in my local area so was delighted to find that salmon farming could offer me full-time career. I am now employed as a Freshwater Operative, dealing with all aspects of fish husbandry. It’s really enjoyable seeing the fish transferred to sea, knowing that I played a key role in rearing them in the best possible conditions. If you’re interested in looking after animals, then this is a great job in a key part of the Scottish economy.”
