Two funds which will help provide more access to training in forestry related skills are again available to people in Scotland through Lantra, and with the support of Scottish Forestry.
The Women in Forestry training fund is for women who are residents of Scotland and who have more than 5 years of experience in the forestry industry.
The Future Forester training fund is open to all residents of Scotland who entered the sector less than five years ago, or who are forestry students (full-time or part-time), or who are interested in starting a career in the sector. Dr Liz Barron-Majerik MBE MICFor, Lantra’s Scotland Director, says that the re-opening of the Scottish Forestry Women in Forestry and Future Foresters Training fund, made possible by this support, will have an immediate and positive impact on the forestry industry.
