As the organisation responsible for taking forward a recommendation in the Scottish Sheep Sector Review that stakeholders in the sheep sector should come together to develop and deliver a sheep-farming Modern Apprenticeship, we have organised a meeting on Wednesday 19 June, and invited a range of industry partners to plan our next steps.

Discussions so far have been about the increased interest in a programme that’s tailored to deliver the training needed by businesses and employees, whether for beef, sheep, dairy, pig or poultry. With lessons being learned from a dairy apprenticeship running in South-West Scotland, this is an ideal time to investigate the demand for further branded apprenticeships.
