Fergus Ewing launches consultation

The Scottish Government is running a consultation on options to stabilise and simplify income support for land managers in Scotland after the UK leaves the European Union.

They want to generate discussion within Scotland’s farming and crofting communities about support through the transition period from direct payments and funding which currently comes through the Scottish Rural Development Programme.

They hope eventually to put in place a new rural policy framework aimed at delivering an entrepreneurial approach that promotes collaboration, helps facilitate integration and delivers long term stability.

The consultation was launched by Cabinet Secretary Fergus Ewing MSP.
