Trophies at Lantra Scotland's ALBAS

With the deadline of Friday 9th December fast approaching, Lantra Scotland is keen to see rural employers, colleges and schools putting in nominations for the ALBAS, Lantra’s Awards for Land-based and Aquaculture Skills.

To make the process easier, nominations for individuals, schools or partnerships can now be made online here. For the first time, there is also a version of the form that makes it easier for individuals to put themselves forward for an award too.

Once all the nominations are all in, an independent judging panel will shortlist the finalists in January before the winners are announced at a prestigious ceremony in the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Dunblane Hydro on Thursday 9th March 2023.

According to Dr Liz Barron-Majerik MBE MICFor, Scotland Director for Lantra, the ALBAS provide a fantastic opportunity for the land-based, aquaculture and environmental conservation industries.

She continued:

“This is an ideal way to recognise new talent in the workforce, and so we’re encouraging people across rural Scotland to get their nominations in now.

We know that getting onto the shortlist or even winning a prize at the ALBAS is a great experience for our trainees, personally and professionally, but they need to be put forward for our awards in the first place.

Many of our previous finalists and winners are really inspirational people, and do a great job of promoting careers in our sector as industry champions.

We’d also be delighted to hear from anyone else wanting to provide sponsorship for our high profile event, so get in touch if you would like to be involved.”
