Big Bang event at Perth College UHI for STEM careers

As well as all the work we’re doing with our partners at the Royal Highland Show to promote careers, we're also taking part in some other big events in June relating to land-based industries too.

Big Bang Scotland took place at Perth College UHI earlier this month and provided school pupils from across Scotland with a wider understanding of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM subjects), as well as a taster of potential career opportunities. At the Lantra stand we showed students how important STEM subjects are to land-based industries and we promoted training and careers within the land-based, aquaculture and environmental conservation sector as well.

The Growing your Future event is being run by the Moray Skills Partnership group for local pupils, and will be held at Fochabers on Wednesday 27 June. It will give students the chance to take part in interactive workshops while meeting companies and individuals from land-based industries in the Moray area. At the Lantra stand, pupils and teachers can find out more about qualifications linked to our industries and try out interactive activities such as our 360° VR Harvest video.
