Modern Apprenticeship in Equine SCQF Level 6

This is a progression route for those who have successfully completed the SCQF Level 5 Modern Apprenticeship or who have previous knowledge of the industry and want to build on their knowledge and skills. 

You will develop intermediate horse care and management skills needed for work or further study, allowing you to progress within the equine industry.

The qualification will take around 18 months to complete and covers areas such planning diets and implementing feeding regimes, delivering basic health care treatments and promoting the health and wellbeing of horses.

The seven options are: exercising, schooling, trekking, breaking, breeding, competition or coaching.

You will receive a Modern Apprenticeship at SCQF Level 6 and an SQA Scottish Vocational Qualification at SCQF Level 6, plus short course certificates.
