NPA Crofting (The Crofting Year)

This NPA gives young people the chance to get the experience of working on a croft.  Over two years, they will develop a wide range of practical skills, getting expert guidance and training from the crofter at work and learning the theory behind crofting in a classroom.

As well as lots of practical skills, students will also learn about the history of crofting, crofting laws and its place in the local community.  Diversification is also looked at, as well as local ecology and sustainability.
