NPA Zoo Animal Behaviour and Welfare

Get a good understanding of modern welfare standards in UK zoos as well as learning how research is shared between zoos globally and helps in developing positive welfare strategies.

This is a project-based course completed over 16 weeks and includes a research task which studies animal survival behaviour, welfare and behaviour of animals in zoos. The award focuses on appropriate dietary strategies, time occupation strategies and assessment and evaluation of behaviours whilst giving centres, partners and learners the freedom to focus on particular species of interest.
