Forestry and Aquaculture in STEM Week – Secondary Schools Competition Terms and Conditions

  • The competition is open to all secondary school pupils living in Scotland – children must enter via their school, and entries must be the child’s own work. 

  • Entries for the secondary school competition must be submitted by Friday 14th January 2022 at 12 noon, preferably sent electronically to Lantra Scotland (scotland@lantra.co.uk). 

  • If you are unable to submit entries online, you may post entries to: Lantra Scotland, Inveralmond Business Centre, Auld Bond Road, Perth, PH1 3FX. 

  • Lantra Scotland are not responsible for late, lost or delayed entries. 

  • There is no entry fee, and no purchase is necessary to enter this competition. 

  • Each individual entry must have the following information clearly on the entry email, or posted with the entry, otherwise it cannot be considered: 

Pupil’s name 
Category entered (Secondary) 
School name 
School address 
School’s social media handles (where available) 
Teacher's name and subject 
Contact Email Address 
  • The participating school is responsible for ensuring appropriate permissions have been sought for each child, or another lawful basis under data protection legislation applies, before sharing personal data with Lantra Scotland. By entering this competition, entrants are confirming that the required consent has been given by each child’s parent or legal guardian, or that another lawful basis applies. 
  • We have published a privacy notice in relation to the STEM Schemes Week – Schools Competition. It details what data we collect from participants, what we do with it and how to contact us. 

  • The competition entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges who shall decide the winners. Their decision shall be final and binding, and no correspondence shall be entered into by Lantra Scotland. Information about the judges will be on the competition webpage.

  • The competition results will be announced during STEM Ambassadors in Scotland week in February 2022. Winners will be informed of the results through the contact details provided in with their entry and this will be posted on the Lantra Scotland website from this date. 

  • Details of the prizes for the competition winner, second and third place for each category can be found on the competition webpage. The school with the winning pupil entry in each category can select STEM kits or items to the value of £250 from Amazon or educational websites (to be confirmed with the school), which will then be purchased on their behalf by Lantra Scotland and delivered to the school. No cash alternative to any prize is available and the prizes shall be non-transferable. 

  • Winning entries will be shared on Lantra Scotland website and social media pages and may be made available as a resource on the forestry and aquaculture industries to schools across Scotland. 

  • Entry to the competition shall only be valid if the entrant has complied with these competition rules. 

  • Lantra Scotland reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Revised terms and conditions will be available online. 

  • Lantra Scotland are working in conjunction with STEM Ambassadors in Scotland to bring this competition as part of the Forestry and Aquaculture STEM Week with Lantra Scotland. STEM Ambassadors in Scotland is part of STEM Learning, which has its own privacy notice
