Modern Apprenticeship in Rural Skills SCQF Level 5

This programme gives new or less experienced staff a qualification in estate maintenance or environmental conservation and normally takes about a year of study and on-site training to complete. 

It covers lots of practical aspects and helps you to develop an awareness of environmental good practice and to establish and maintain working relationships with others.

There are two options:

• Environmental Conservation. Learn how to promote responsible use of outdoor sites, as well as survey and report on the condition of the environment.
• Estate Maintenance. Focus on more specific areas such as maintaining and improving game and wildlife habitat or maintaining and repairing boundaries and access points.

You will receive a Modern Apprenticeship at SCQF Level 5 and an SQA Scottish Vocational Qualification at SCQF Level 5 (equivalent to a National 5), plus short course certificates, including an Emergency First Aid qualification (one day course).
