During the COVID-19 pandemic it is vital that we ensure key rural and land-based businesses in Scotland — including farms and businesses with animal welfare obligations — can access key workers and continue to operate.
To meet this need, we have created a Skills Matching Service for Scotland to put businesses and potential employees with relevant skills and experience in touch with each other.
If you want to join the service you must be available to work in Scotland. See our FAQs for jobs in the rest of the UK.
We filter applicants by matching up their key skills with those required by businesses, making the process of finding each other easier for both employers and employees.
Although we have a limited number of vacancies at the moment, this may change over the coming weeks.
To join our service, please click on one of the following links:
- I'm looking for work or am on furlough and have relevant skills and experience
- I'm an employer in Scotland looking for staff with relevant skills and experience
- If you're looking to recruit a large number of key seasonal or unskilled workers, then contact NFUS or register with Our Skillsforce Job Hub for employers.
Employers can find out more about claiming for employees' wages through the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme here.
Two of the organisations we've matched up have been a dairy farm and an animal centre, so click on their names to find out how they got on.
Don't just take our word for why the Skills Matching Service is a great idea. Here's farmer Jim Smith explaining why he thinks it works so well.
