Modern Apprenticeship in Rural Skills SCQF Level 6/7
This programme develops your understanding of the different skills needed in estate maintenance or environmental conservation and normally takes about 18 months of study, including off-the-job training.
It should help those with practical skills to progress to a supervisory role and help people new to the industry to start their careers.
There are two options:
- Environmental Conservation at SCQF Level 7. Learn to promote responsible use of outdooor sites, as well as survey and report on the condition of the environment.
- Estate Management at SCQF Level 6. Focus on more specific areas such as maintaining and improving game and wildlife habitat or maintaining and repairing boundaries and access points.
You will receive a Modern Apprenticeship at SCQF Level 6 or 7 and an SQA Scottish Vocational Qualification at SCQF Level 6 or 7, plus an Emergency First Aid qualification (one day course) and an industry award, such as ATV Handling or chainsaw use.
